Abstract: |
A proposed development site occupied the former cricket and football ground on Norwich Road, Fakenham. Evaluation by trial trenching produced several small features, some undatable, others associated with the former sports ground. Metal-detector survey of the spoil heaps produced three post-medieval copper-alloy objects, and several ferrous objects. Two pottery sherds were of medieval date. Unfortunately, despite its prime location for development in the Saxon period and beyond, the site produced no evidence of archaeological features. [Au(abr)] |
