Abstract:
An evaluation was carried out at the proposed site of a housing development. Excavations in the surrounding area had recorded upper palaeolithic and mesolithic camp sites, and late bronze age or early iron age features. During the evaluation, a peaty deposit was found which contained preserved wood; a bronze age date was conjectured for this. An excavation was recommended. [AIP]
