Abstract: |
The evaluation recorded the southern extent of three pits of varying size containing a high proportion of slag, which may have been iron ore pits or scowles. The largest scowle contained residual post-medieval pottery and the natural deposits through which it was cut had been affected by heat or burning. A single ditch was recorded in the eastern end of the development area, which could not be investigated due to the depth of the trench and remained undated. [Au(adp)] |
