Abstract: |
An archaeological evaluation and earthwork survey was undertaken on 2.5 acres of pasture land. Faint traces of ridge and furrow survived on the southern part although it was badly eroded due to recent ploughin episodes. The work revealed no archaeological activity other than 17th century field drains. The results concurred with documentary research which indicated that by 1851 the site formed part of the rector's garden, before which it was probable that the site formed part of an open field system.
