Abstract: |
The excavation of five sewer trenches within the centre of York were successful in locating the via principalis and associated mid and late Roman buildings. It also located the position of 11th-12th century buildings and artefact assemblages. In total the sewer trenches provided an enormous amount of very important information on the archaeology of a part of York which had seen relatively little excavation. [AIP] |
