Abstract: |
Observation of foundation trenches for an extension adjacent to a medieval pottery kiln dump excavated in 1967 revealed a possible medieval ditch and layers containing medieval pottery. Over 300 sherds of mainly 13th-14th century glazed and unglazed pottery, including many over-fired wasters, and eleven fragments of tile were recovered. The vessel forms included bowls, cooking pots, jugs and a dripping tray. [Au] |
