Abstract:
Hand dug test pits and an auger survey were undertaken to evaluate the site. The test pits revealed a number of Roman features and significant quantities of Roman pottery, the auger cores seem to indicate that archaeological levels may well survive in certain areas, due to the build up of clay and silt levels which overlay the natural chalk.
