Abstract:
Large parts of coastal Hampshire, in the lee of the Isle of Wight, have been protected from destructive marine forces. This project aimed to survey the salt production areas, using digital mapping and historical sources. Many of the sites were post-medieval; of the examples that were not, it was suggested that more research needed to be undertaken into the form, function and development of these sites. [Au(adp)]
