Abstract: |
Seventeen test pits were excavated through the backfill of a water main which crossed Borough Hill Iron Age hillfort, a SAM. A watching brief with recording and limited excavation revealed a number of archaeological layers and features within the circuit of the fort as well as parts of the banks and ditches themselves. The principal archaeological periods represented were prehistoric (Mesolithic through to Bronze Age), Iron Age and Romano-British. [Au] |
