Abstract: |
A desk top study of a proposed development site was undertaken. An Early Bronze Age cup and Roman pottery had been found at the site, and artefacts dating from the Mesolithic to the medieval period had been recovered nearby. It was concluded that archaeological deposits would have been destroyed by the construction of the sewage works which had formerly occupied the site, although a potential for remains nonetheless existed within former open spaces and perimeter areas. It was recommended that a watching brief should be carried out during groundworks. [AIP] |
