Abstract: |
An evaluation in advance of redevelopment revealed Neolithic or Bronze Age ard marks. Similar evidence for prehistoric cultivation at Platform Wharf suggested a large area seems to have been farmed and that a settlement lay nearby. The lack of later finds may be explained by inundation of the land, making settlement and agriculture impractical until the last century. [AIP] |
