Abstract: |
Six test-pits, excavated to evaluate the site of a proposed tennis court revealed a well preserved pitched stone surface and associated wall, dating from at least the 12th to 14th centuy, overlain by a possible plough soil. Both the wall and surface had been cut by later quarrying. A significant amount of 12th-14th century pottery was recovered and a large post-hole with packing was also revealed. [Au(adp)] |
