Abstract: |
An archaeological watching brief was undertaken during the laying of a mains water pipeline adajcent to the Scheduled Monument of Kilgram Grange (a medieval monastic grange site). The pipeline corridor, approximately 10m wide and running for a length of 370m was investigated and features consistent with drainage and channeling works and a trackway were recorded, however, no dating evidence was recovered. Although it was suggested that the substantial stone lined drain might imply nearby structures no direct link to the monastic site was inferred. [AIP] |
