Abstract: |
An excavation was carried out at the site of a small extension to a building which lay within an area with well-documented prehistoric activity. Roman and Saxon remains were known in the vicinity, and later medieval activity had been excavated at two nearby sites. Late medieval to post-medieval features were identified within a small evaluation trench at the site, and it was agreed to extend the trench. Two large pits and numerous sherds of medieval pottery were revealed. One Roman sherd and some prehistoric struck flints were also found. [AIP] |
