Abstract: |
The watching brief observed two ditches in the area stripped for pond 1. Modern glass was found in one, and the other was also thought to be modern. Another ditch found in the area stripped for pond 2, contained plastic and other modern rubbish. The exposed surface in the area stripped for the Klampress consisted of patches of redeposited gravel, overlying a silty loam. A machine-cut trench through the loam suggested that it filled a large deep feature, possibly a bomb crater. A prehistoric flint scraper was recovered from a patch of redeposited gravel. [Au(abr)] |
