Abstract: |
An archaeological evaluation was undertaken in advance of the proposed development of a factory/office building with a possible extension (initially car parking) in the northern part of the site. The only archaeological feature exposed was a pit in trench 5 which seemed most likely to have represented an infilled post-medieval chalk pit and that the associated prehistoric finds were residual, deriving from a background source of abundant archaeological material.
