Abstract: |
No archaeological features or artefacts were identified from within the proposed gravel extraction area. The area around the proposed development contained a variety of prehistoric, Roman and later archaeological features, recorded in the local Sites and Monuments Record. These included a series of probably prehistoric cropmark features to the east of the site, some already destroyed by improvements to the A452 Kenilworth road; a possible medieval mill site surviving as earthworks to the north; and a still extant, but disused post-medieval mill to the north east. However, no evidence was identified in the course of this assessment that features associated this recorded archaeology extended into the development area. [Au(abr)] |
