Abstract: |
The area of the proposed development lay in an area thought to have considerable archaeological potential for several periods. However, on the basis of the known archaeology there was little outside the curtilage of Old Hall Farm that any development could, with any certainty, pose a significant threat to. Apart from the farm site, previously the site of a substantial 16th century aristocratic house, the area of interest was expected to yield evidence of medieval and post-medieval agricultural regimes and perhaps evidence of former sand mine workings.
