Abstract: |
Two trial trenches were excavated on the area of the proposed development. A layer and possible ditch of medieval date were identified, these were truncated by later layers. Clay lined pits were identified and are thought to be 16th century tanning pits. Evidence tanning was recovered in the form of worked bone and horn cores. Cellaring was only noted on part of the site. [Au(abr)] |
