Abstract: |
A watching brief during groundworks for the construction of a warehouse on a site lying to the north of the A1079 York Road, which follows the main Roman road from Brough to York, revealed 1.4m of made ground consisting of demolition rubble overlying the original topsoil. No archaeologial features were identified beneath the topsoil. [AIP] |
