Abstract: |
Observation of foundation trenches for an extension to a house adjacent to a presumed medieval moated site revealed a brick surface at a depth of c.0.8m. Other trenches were disturbed by modern services. The existing house was late 19th century but lay on the site of an earlier farm and the surface appeared to have belonged to a yard between two of the farm buildings showed on the 1886 OS map.
