Abstract: |
An archaeological evaluation comprising one trial trench was carried out on land at Thurnham Castle (Scheduled Ancient Monument 12844) prior to the construction of a new access ramp. The site lay outside the medieval castle itself, but within the Scheduled Area. No archaeological features were observed, although a small assemblage of late post-medieval artefacts were recovered.
