Abstract: |
A borehole survey was carried out at the proposed site of an extensive housing development. Pollen evidence indicating woodland clearance and cereal cultivation was obtained. A sand unit similar to one found beneath a prehistoric trackway at a nearby site was recorded in one borehole. It was noted that trackways could therefore exist in the vicinity; the excavation of archaeological test-pits near this borehole was recommended. [AIP] |
