Abstract: |
The watching brief was undertaken during the act of tracing a blocked water pipe by the farmer. The pipe had an unknown origin and was thought to maybe originate at a well. Possible features may have been encountered during the excavation of the pipe and therefore the watching brief was needed. The results of the watching brief demonstrated that the iron pipe was of unknown age and was found to terminate at a brick box which had not been intended to be a rodding point or an inspection box. It was suggested that the box may have been the point of a spring. [AIP] |
