Abstract: |
An archaeological open area excavation was undertaken across the site in response to a condition upon planning permission for the redevelopment of the site. An earlier evaluation had identified a number of post-medieval structures which were possibly related to the known 17th century sugar refinery, 18th century pottery, and 19th century malthouse. The findings of the excavation confirmed these interpretations. [AIP] |
