Abstract: |
<summary>Sections were exposed during the excavation of two pipe trenches from the gatehouse to the kitchen, and from the gatehouse to the Nevill Gateway. These revealed an average build-up of 0.7 - 0.86m of modern material over medieval and post-medieval surfaces and deposits around the gatehouse and beneath the gravel drives. In front of the Nevill Gateway, earlier deposits were found to lie only 0.3m below existing ground level. {italon}AIP{italoff}{spacea} |
