Abstract: |
A watching brief, undertaken on excavations in the cellar of this property, located a deposit of friable black silty clay loam, with occasional oyster shell and animal bone. Although no dating evidence was recovered, it is suspected that this was the product of dumping activity, probably relating to the Anglo-Scandinavian or earlier medieval periods. No other deposits were found. [Au(abr)] |
