Abstract: |
An archaeological assessment was undertaken along the proposed route of a water pipeline and five sites of archaeological potential recorded. Part of the Dere Street Roman Road was recorded as was the site of several burials, medieval in date and first discovered in the nineteenth century, and an ice house. Undated earthworks, an enclosure and enclosure/field boundary were also noted and mitigation work proposed.[Au] |
