Abstract: |
The proposed site of the new Norfolk and Norwich Hospital lay in an area of the Yare Valley which had seen many archaeological finds, most of them of prehistoric date. Only a little evidence for human activity was recorded. This took the form of pottery, worked flints and a small number of ditches and pits dating to the Late Neolithic/Early Bronze Age and the Iron Age. It was considered likely that more extensive prehistoric remains had been scattered and destroyed in recent centuries by ploughing. [Au(abr)] |
