Abstract: |
Watching briefs were undertaken between 1991 and 1993 during building refurbishment works on a grade II listed building, situated withint the medieval moated site of Manor Farm (a Scheduled Ancient Monument). Based on the results of the watching brief, three main phases were suggested. The first phase comprised the remnants of at least one earlier medieval building on the site. The second phase was represented by structural elements relating to the construction of the northern wing and central portion of the house in the early 16th century. The third phase comprised the alterations to the builidngs after the 16th century work but before or contemporary with the early 19th century construction of the southern wing. [AIP] |
