Abstract: |
An evaluation was carried out at a proposed development site within an Archaeological Priority Area. Early medieval features, including buildings, burials and ditches, had been excavated in the surrounding area. During the evaluation, three pits were revealed which contained animal bone and a fragment of early medieval bone comb. A piece of Roman tile, post-medieval tile and brick and an 18th century well were recorded. It was concluded that measures should be taken to safeguard the archaeological deposits. [AIP] |
