Abstract: |
An evaluation trench was excavated on the site of Tickhill Friary. The Friary was founded in c.1260 and the trench was excavated adjacent to the surviving 13th century range, which due to its ornate structure was suggested as having been associated with the frater. Excavation revealed a rubble dump of probable post-medieval date below modern leveling layers and service trenches, and above natural clay-sand. No trace of the cloister walk, which was expected to be situated adjacent to the 13th century range, was found. [Au(adp)] |
