Abstract: |
An archaeological evaluation was undertaken prior to the proposed construction of six semi-detached houses and garages. The site was located c.1km north of the historic centre of Ely, on a route that may have dated to the medieval period. It was situated within 1km of several sites of the prehistoric, Roman and Saxon periods. A total of four archaeological trial trenches were excavated and remains of 19th century date were found. No earlier material was noted. [Au(abr)] |
