Abstract: |
An archaeological evaluation undertaken prior to an extension to the Somerfield store uncovered the presence of a sequence of post-medieval and modern layers sealing a possible medieval humic sand horizon. The horizon sealed the upper fill of a medieval pit. These indicated medieval activity behind the South Street frontage. [Au(abr)] |
