Abstract: |
Excavation within a cable trench related to the extension of the Jubilee Line revealed several layers of Roman occupation. At least two phases of buildings were noted, with floors (including one which was tessellated), interior partitions and post-holes of the external walls. Plaster bearing decoration was also recovered, suggesting high status, possibly administrative, buildings. The first phase dated from 160 A.D., with earlier deposits unexcavated and later ones truncated.[AIP] |
