Abstract: |
The exposed stone quoining of the original Hylands House was recorded when a mirror was removed in the latter stages of restoration work in the Banqueting Hall. The work showed that the exterior of the original west wall, 1730, was later re-pointed and lime-washed, probably when the west wing was built in the early part of 19th century. The west wing was built against the original corner by a straight joint. [Au] |
