Abstract: |
Aerial photography revealed a number of crop marks in fields to the south of the River Lugg, immediately north of the study area, including two ring ditches of apparent Bronze Age date. The study area itself revealed no such evidence of prehistoric activity. Indeed, the only physical remains within the field located during a site visit were of 20th century date, namely traces of the foundations of the club house or 'Recreation Room', that was built in about 1920.
