Abstract: |
An evaluation was undertaken in connection with a proposed redevelopment in the grounds of Taplow Court. Due to the proximity of the proposed redevelopment to important archaeological remains. The field evaluation identified three principal periods of activity, in the Mesolithic, Late Bronze Age and post-medieval periods respectively. A ditch and associated Bronze Age pottery provided the first evidence for settlement at this time in Taplow. Several other prehistoric features were recorded. Post-medieval features included a number of ditches, some of which were possibly associated with Taplow Court.[AIP] |
