Abstract: |
A desk-top assessment of a proposed development site was undertaken. Bronze age trackways, preserved within peat deposits, had been excavated in the vicinity. Land reclamation in the area was carried out in medieval times; flood defences and drainage ditches were constructed. Cartographic evidence indicated that a windmill lay on the site from the late 17th century. Further industrialisation occurred in the 19th century. It was concluded that an evaluation should be carried out. [AIP] |
