Abstract:
The archaeological evaluation of land on the southern side of Castle Hill, the 'upper town' of Cambridge, immediately beyond the line of the Roman defences was undertaken. The site had considerable archaeological potential. There was a strong reason to expect later prehistoric activity/settlement at least across the western half of the site. Furthermore, a Roman cemetery and, at the very least, field systems could certainly be anticipated. [AIP]
