Abstract: |
An evaluation was carried out at a site proposed for redevelopment. Prehistoric, Saxon and Roman sites were known in the surrounding area. Three trenches were excavated and two large pits containing flintwork and medieval roof-tile fragments were found. These were thought to represent the sites of trees which had been removed during medieval times. A sherd of Roman pottery was also found. It was concluded that no further work would be necessary.[AIP] |
