Abstract: |
An assessment was undertaken prior to proposed development. Roman finds had been recovered from the Fulham Palace area and it was thought likely that a small settlement may have existed close to the river crossing. The report concluded that the assessment of the site indicated the potential survival of archaeological remains. The site lay within an Archaeological Priority Area and had particular significance in respect of the Saxon/Viking period, as well as for the Roman, medieval and early post-medieval periods. The proposed development, which occupied a large proportion of the central area of the site, would be likely to have a significant impact on any archaological remains. [AIP] |
