Abstract: |
Work was begun on the construction of a new operational earth station at Martlesham Heath. The development site was in the immediate vicinity of three Bronze Age round barrows which were excavated in 1974. When the site was visited it was found that two bases for the satellites had already been excavated, one of which was sited almost directly on the site of Martlesham Heath Barrow III. A series of test -pits were hand dug across the remaining areas which were due to be excavated, but no evidence for any activity associated with the barrows was identified. [Au] |
