Abstract: |
<summary>Trial excavations and a contour survey were undertaken on a bank and ditch in order to create a record of the features prior to disturbance by road construction. The excavations showed that the two could have been constructed together, and it appeared that they had eroded/silted-up simultaneously. The only dating evidence found was a single sherd of medieval pottery. A post-medieval pipe found in the base of the ditch could be evidence of a later cutting, or could indicate that the entire earthwork is of post-medieval date. {italon}AIP{italoff} |
