Abstract: |
A archaeological desk-based assessment was carried out. The proposed renovation area included the Listed building known as Heron Corn Mill in addition to a former barn which housed the Museum of Papermaking. Cartographic evidence suggested that the mill had occupied the area since at least the mid 18th century. Documentary records suggested that the mill might have existed on or near this site from the 13th century. [Au(adp)] |
