Abstract: |
<summary>A watching brief was undertaken on underpinning work done at the property. Beneath a modern brick surface was a layer of re-deposited natural with ash and gravel inclusions. Beneath this was another layer of bricks, which appeared to be of medieval date. Several were removed and were found to be bedded on a light brown sand. The plaster on the wall above the excavation was removed to reveal poorly laid and bonded limestone blockwork. {italon}AIP{italoff} {italon}SMR Primary Record Numbers:{italoff} 1992.1006 (YAT investigation identification no) |
