Abstract: |
<summary>A watching brief was undertaken during the excavation of a foundation trench for a new staircase. A layer of black, friable silty loam containing many animal bones was revealed. This layer appeared similar to those found on adjacent sites which were of medieval date. An architectural stone fragment was discovered, possibly from a building of the Franciscan priory which occupied the adjacent site from the early 13th century. {italon}AIP{italoff} {italon}SMR Primary Record Numbers:{italoff} 1991.17 (YAT investigation identification no) |
