Abstract: |
A desk-top assessment of a proposed development site near the area of Roman Londinium was undertaken. Roman cremations and burials had been recorded nearby, and two roads passed through the vicinity. Two early medieval churches had lain nearby. Excavations in the area had revealed medieval gardens, quarry pits and cess-pits. The site itself had been developed by the mid-17th century. It was concluded that some archaeological trial work would be necessary. [AIP] |
