Abstract:
A watching brief was maintained on ten geotechnical test-pits excavated along the route of a proposed relief water main. Topsoil finds of post-medieval and modern date were recovered from three pits, an area of charcoal observed in one pit, and a slab of white rock was observed exceeding the width of another pit. [AIP]
