Abstract: |
A preliminary assessment of the archaeological and cultural heritage implications of a proposed oil wellsite involved a review of existing data, and an initial site inspection. The improvement of access roads to the north could involve minor, but acceptable, impacts on the setting of a Scheduled Ancient Monument. Road improvements on the east access route option would affect a Scheduled Ancient Monument and require a grant of Scheduled Monument Consent. The improvement of access roads and tracks on the east access option, near West Chaldon Farm, could involve minor impacts on an area of poorly-preserved former field systems. [Au(adp)] |
